Hoot Fire & Security has donated £1,500 to Kingsway Primary School in Kirkby-in-Ashfield. The funding will help the school invest in resources, activities, and programmes that focus on improving the physical and mental wellbeing of pupils and their families.
Hoot Fire & Security’s donation reflects the growing recognition that wellbeing is just as important as academic achievement.
Wellbeing has a direct impact on health, happiness and the future success of children. Investing in children’s physical & emotional health will strengthen their sense of identity, nurture positive relationships and will significantly improve outcomes for the children at Kingsway Primary.
Having witnessed firsthand the positive impact the school has within the local community, Hoot Fire & Security is proud to support initiatives that make a meaningful and measurable difference to children and families.
The school has a dedicated family support worker delivering a wide range of wellbeing focused activities for children, their parents and grandparents. Through engaging programmes such as the school’s ‘Linger for Longer’ morning drop-in sessions, ‘Dealing with a Feeling’ series, and ‘Men in Sheds’ woodwork weekends for dads and grandads. With many more fun workshops and activities in between.
Their adult learning opportunities have grown significantly. Initially providing sessions designed to promote confidence and enjoyment in subjects such as maths, to create a supportive environment and pathway for parents to upskill, retrain, and access further education.
More recently, a creative photography workshop for parents and children proved highly popular and was oversubscribed, while the school’s new community book swap shed continues to take shape. These initiatives complement the ongoing support provided by the school’s dedicated wellbeing space and family support worker throughout the school day.
Hoot Fire & Security’s Managing Director Chris Brown said “By investing in the wellbeing and health of children, we are also investing in the future of the community — fostering a generation that is not only educated but also confident, compassionate, and resilient. Supporting young people’s health and wellbeing is an investment in the future.”
Kingsway Primary School’s Family Support Worker Mrs Smith expressed gratitude for the support, saying “This funding will make a real difference, helping us to continue supporting local families, developing opportunities for our pupils, and strengthening our role at the heart of the community.”
