Hoot Fire & Security are delighted to have chosen Kingsway Primary School, in Kirkby-in-Ashfield, as a local school to donate to. As part of our company pledge to have a positive social impact it is a pleasure to reach out and support education locally.
We approached Kingsway Primary School, to see if a £500 donation towards the purchase of new books would make a difference. We were delighted to find this is a goal they are already working and fundraising towards.
“It is important that Hoot Fire & Security has a positive impact on society and the local community. One of the lovely things about running a business affords, is the ability to give back to society and make a difference. It was a pleasure to be invited into the school by Assistant Head Miss Limb, to see how our donation would inspire the children.” Chris Brown, Hoot Fire & Security’s Managing Director.
We were delighted to meet the charming year 6 school council members who were so passionate about their school. We heard how the school and all the pupils have been working tirelessly fundraising for their library for the past 18 months, holding summer and Christmas fairs. They have already begun to update their selection of children’s fiction books. The £500 donation from Hoot Fire & Security will go towards growing the non-fiction section of the school library
.
“We saw that Kingsway Primary is more than just a school. It looks after more than just their pupils; it supports and empowers the families around them. The investments they have made in their school go beyond education and was a breath of fresh air. If our donation can go a little way to supporting this school, it will be worth it.” Rob Flowers, Operations Director.
Hoot Fire & Security have enjoyed supporting several projects recently. Last week Hoot Fire & Security staff rolled up their sleeves to volunteer for Footprints Conductive Education Centre. Footprints is a local charity that transforms the lives of children living with mobility and communication difficulties. The Charity is in the process of transforming a building to become the new center for the charity and Chris and Rob went along to offer a hand painting of the newly plastered walls.
